Celebrating Earth Week: April 16th-24th

Chemists Celebrate Earth Week (CCEW) is a community-based program of the American Chemical Society (ACS). This annual program unites ACS local sections, student chapters, technical divisions, businesses, schools, and individuals in communicating the positive role that chemistry plays in the world. CCEW occurs annually during the week of Earth Day, which is April 22.

ACS Omaha section celebrate Earth Week by participating in an outreach event at Strategic air command and Aerospace Museum and by organizing Illustrated poem contest for K-12 students. These events demonstrate support for a healthy environment, raise awareness about environmental issues, and remind people that we all need to contribute to a sustainable planet.

  • Event I: April 16th: Outreach Event at Strategic air command and Aerospace Museum.

Join ACS local section celebrating Earth Day on April 16th at Strategic air command and Aerospace Museum. Stop by the booths are organized and administered by the ACS members. Fun activities and demonstration have been planned for the everyone!!!!! Goodie bags and promotional merchandise!!! Come Check out the chemistry Booth!!

  • Event II: Illustrated Poem Contest for K-12 students

Each year, as part of Chemists Celebrate Earth Week (CCEW), ACS sponsors an illustrated poem contest for K-12 students. The Omaha ACS section invites all area students to compete.
