On December 3rd, the Omaha Local Section, in collaboration with the Creighton University Student Section of AAPS, organized a virtual Drug Discovery and Drug Delivery Symposium 2020. The event was primarily geared towards undergraduate and graduate students – however, talks generated live interest among the researchers as well. Overall, over 30 representatives from local academia and industry attended the virtual symposium.
In the core of the symposium’s program were talks by Prof. Sylvie Garneau-Tsodikova (University of Kentucky) Fighting resistance: Discovery and development of new antimicrobial agents, and Prof. Ajay Banga (Mercer University) Non-traditional and traditional approaches for delivery into/through skin. Attendees also learned about efficient approaches to build their resumes and LinkedIn profiles, and participated in the “Career Guidance” discussion panel featuring representatives of local industry.
